Intercollegiate competitions not only provide a platform for the students to exhibit their
talents but also enhance student development by fostering teamwork, leadership, and critical
thinking. It fosters healthy competition and offer networking opportunities for the students. In this
regard, Sri Kaliswari Institute of Management and Technology, Sivakasi organised “SKIMT MAGNATE
2K25” on 25 th February 2025. Shri.A.P.Selvarajan, Secretary, SKIMT presided over the function.
Dr.P.S.Valarmathy, Director, SKIMT delivered the presidential address wherein she pointed out that
companies today not just look for candidates with degrees but for students with skills. Competitions
of these nature help the students to hone their team building skills and enhance their creativity,
communication and problem solving skills. Students should also think about Upskilling and reskilling
themselves.
Dr.C Ramakrishnan, Principal i/c of Rajapalayam Rajus’ College was the chief guest. In his
inaugural address emphasised that today many of the students are surrendering themselves to
Artificial Intelligence (AI) failing to utilise the critical thinking skills and sixth sense the distinguishing
characteristic of Humans. He spoke about ethics of the students and encouraged the students to
practice class room ethics. He also motivated the students to develop confidence as from the mere
raising of hands in case of queries indicate the confidence level. He asked all the students to make
right use of these type of inter-collegiate events to explore themselves.
Nine events including Case Analysis, Business Quiz, Business Plan, Paper Presentation, Ad-
act, Ad-copy, Mime show, Face Painting and Art from waste were conducted and prizes were
awarded to the top three positions. 202 participants from 10 institutions participated in the event
and Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College secured the overall Champions trophy.
