HERITAGE TRIP AND HIKING AT ALAGAR MALAI
Heritage Trips are usually organised to provide students with a hands-on, immersive learning experience that centers around the exploration and appreciation of a region’s cultural, historical, and environmental heritage. A Heritage Trip to Alagar Kovil and Palamudhircholai was organised by Sri Kaliswari Institute of Management and Technology on 8th March 2025 wherein the I MBA students along with faculty members participated. The trip provided participants with a deeper understanding of local history and culture while offering an opportunity to connect with nature. As part of the trip, the students embarked on a hiking
expedition to Alagarmalai Hill, leading to Palamudhircholai and Nubura Gangai. The trek was moderately challenging, with a well-marked trail winding through trees, bushes and rocky terrain, Along the way, participants enjoyed scenic views, diverse flora and fauna, and hoards of monkeys which were the predominant local wildlife over there. Hiking offered an exciting and healthy experience as it made the students to come out of their comfort zones, detoxed them from their day to day monotonous lives, instilled childlike curiosity and strengthened their bonding.
